The Legal Assistant supports attorneys in preparing for and managing legal cases, handling both administrative and substantive legal tasks. Typical duties include:
Client Communication: Answering phone calls, responding to emails, and meeting with clients to gather information and update them on case status.
Case Preparation: Conducting initial research, organizing case files, compiling evidence, and preparing materials for court or meetings.
Document Management: Transcribing, proofreading, and filing legal documents; maintaining client and case records.
Court & Meeting Support: Attending hearings, depositions, and meetings; taking accurate notes; scheduling court dates and client appointments.
Administrative Tasks: Managing invoices, copying, faxing, and mail; coordinating with court personnel and outside vendors.
Confidentiality: Handling sensitive client information with discretion and maintaining strict privacy.
